Materials We're Proud Of

Indian Block Print Cotton

This ancient art form originates from regions like Rajasthan and Gujarat in India, where artisans have been practicing and perfecting it for centuries. The process of block printing is highly labor-intensive and time-consuming. Artisans hand-carve intricate patterns into wooden blocks, which are then meticulously dipped in natural dyes and stamped onto the fabric. This requires precision and patience, as each block must be aligned perfectly to create seamless patterns. The use of natural dyes not only adds to the uniqueness of each piece but also ensures vibrant, long-lasting colors. No two pieces are exactly alike, as the hand-printing process introduces slight variations that add to the fabric's charm and individuality.

Compressed Cotton Gauze

Compressed Cotton Gauze, or "Salu" in Thai, stands out due to its unique production process. The cotton fibers are carefully compressed, which creates a fabric with a naturally "worn-in" or wrinkled appearance. Unlike other cottons that may be heavier and less permeable, Salu’s gauzy texture allows for excellent air circulation, making it particularly suitable for warm climates and summer clothing. The compression process enhances the fabric’s strength, allowing it to maintain its quality and softness over time.

Stone-Washed Cotton

Stone-Washed Cotton from Thailand is renowned for its unique texture and aesthetic, achieved through a special washing process that uses pumice stones. This method gives the fabric a naturally worn-in, vintage look, setting it apart from smoother cottons. The stone-washing technique not only softens the cotton but also enhances its strength, allowing it to withstand regular use and washing without losing its unique texture.
